4. IT service and software will outgrow hardware; telecom services will decline

Of the four mutually-exclusive categories that make up the ITC industry I expect IT services and software to grow by 5% each; the former reaching $3.3 trillion and the latter, $1.9 trillion. I expect hardware sales to calm down, growing by 2% to $1.8 trillion. Telecom services will decline by 2% to $1.4 trillion in the year.
